Multi-Family Residential Brief: Viridis @ 570 W. Washington

eaa’s newest conceptual design for an 8-Story Multi-Family Residential project at the intersection of North Jefferson Street and West Washington Boulevard in Chicago’s West Loop Gate neighborhood. It is surrounded by several mid-rise office buildings, high-rise hotels, residential buildings, street level retail, the Kennedy Expressway, and Ogilvie Transportation Center. The site is immediately surrounded by several grade level and roof top landscapes, which become part of the contextual relationship VIRIDIS compliments.

VIRIDIS is the Latin word for “Green.” Part of the design concept has been to explore the use of outdoor personal space and a return to nature, which has become so important and desired over the past year in a residence. There are variations in the units and how they accomplish this natural outdoor space throughout the building’s design. VIRIDIS is also conscious of the green cycle and hopes to be a resource for continued growth and contribution to Chicago’s park system.
